Uganda, Tanzania to hire adviser on oil pipeline financing

Uganda, Tanzania and French oil company Total E&P, are working on a proposed crude oil export pipeline to link East Africa.

A concept brief for the project issued by Tanzania’s Ministry of Energy indicated that the parties will at the end of this month put out a Request for Proposals for a consultant.

Tanzania’s minister of Energy, Sospeter Muhungo, says the 1,445km pipeline dubbed the East African Crude Oil Pipeline will run from Kabaale to Tanga Port at the Indian Ocean.

East African Crude Oil Pipeline will be the longest electrically heated pipeline in the world.
